Food Aid
Food Aid is a program of the Ottawa Food Bank that purchases beef in order to feed the hungry. Every dollar donated to Food Aid is used to buy and process beef from Ottawa-area farmers - the program boosts the local market for cattle while adding nutritious protein to the diets of needy families.

Food Aid Day: June 4, 2010
Join us for The WORKS Gourmet Burger Bistro's BBQ at City Hall from 11am-2pm on Friday, June 4, where you'll get a burger, drink and bag of chips for $10. 580 CFRA will also broadcast live and you'll enjoy lunch-time entertainment. All proceeds benefit the Food Aid program.

10:30am: Celebrity Milking Competition #1
11:00am-2:00pm: The WORKS BBQ with burgers, entertainment and more!
12:30pm: Celebrity Milking Competition #2
Since its inception in 2005, Food Aid has raised over $500,000. Funds have been used to purchase 900+ cull cattle (older cows that farmers are unable to export) at auction in area sale barns as well as to process the beef using local meat packers.
