How We Help
Mission Statement
"To act as a food bank on behalf of those service agencies in the National Capital Region distributing food directly to the needy by arranging for, collecting, processing, storing and distributing to such service agencies the food they need of an appropriate quality, quantity and variety and in an equitable, timely and cost-effective way."
Ottawa Food Bank Facts
- The Ottawa Food Bank provides 43,000 people each month with emergency food assistance, 40% of whom are children.
- The Ottawa Food Bank supports more than 135 food programs throughout the National Capital Region.
- 12 tons of food leaves our Michael Street warehouse each and every working day.
- $1 donated to the Ottawa Food Bank generates $5 worth of food into the community.
Helping Our Beneficiaries
When a family or individual in our community needs emergency food assistance, there's an Ottawa Food Bank Member Agency around the corner. Whether it's groceries for the family, a children's breakfast before school or a hot meal at a shelter, our beneficiaries will receive help to get back on their feet.
